For the successful Bungie team, well known for the Halo series, developing Destiny was a dream come true. Having earned the distinction of being the most expensive game development to date, the shared-world shooter brought in an estimated 325 million dollars in its first week on sale. Top-class voice actors were also chosen for the localised German version in order to capture the incomparable atmosphere of the game.

Destiny transports players several hundred years into the future. Mankind looks back on a Golden Age heralded by the arrival of the mysterious ”Traveler” which enabled them to colonise many planets within our solar system. But the Darkness, arch enemy to the Traveler, put an end to this time of prosperity. On a desolate Earth, the last survivors gather in the last safe city. Now it is up to the players to become Guardians, defending humanity against hostile species and restoring its former glory.

Players can either explore the story, or play in a number of different cooperative and competitive modes. Meanwhile, the player's constant companion, known as the ”Ghost”, always has an apt remark to spout from its non-existent lips...
