Can you smell seaweed, can you feel a stiff breeze on your face and your peg leg itching, can you hear pirates roaring for more rum in the distance? That’s Tropico 2: Pirate Cove!

In the sequel to the award-winning Caribbean spectacle Tropico, you are a 17th century pirate king reigning over a hidden pirate cove in the Caribbean along with your band of rough buccaneers. Enrich yourself by plundering merchant vessels, capture their crews and make them work in captivity on your island. Keep your pirate pack happy with gambling, feasts and barrels of rum! The greatest powers of the world fear you, bandits respect you, your prisoners obey you without question and the women - well, you know ...

Your loyal comrade Smitty will offer help and advice throughout the game. His voice is none other than that of the widely-travelled, familiar old seadog Käpt’n Blaubär, never at a loss for words, more commonly known as Wolfgang Völz. But let’s not stand around gaping - heave to and weigh anchor! This is the life!

Press Notes about
Tropico 2 - Pirate Cove
October 2003
BRAVO Screenfun
"... Great missions, an atmospheric presentation and Käpt'n Blaubär's voice make this otherwise dry economic game interesting."
October 2003
NEWSFLASH
"The VO is also very good: Drama veteran Wolfgang Völz, the voice of Käpt'n Blaubär, provides a lot of wit."
October 2003
Gamestar
"Optically, the peg leg varnish of the slightly sterile-seeming Tropico 2 has begun to peel off a little. However, witty VO and rousing Calypso rhythms still create a real holiday atmosphere."
July 2003
VGA
"... Support is given not only by a log containing a mine of information and statistics, but also by an assistant called Smitty, who offers really useful advice in Käpt'n Blaubär's original voice. "
09.05.2003
www.4players.de
"Käpt'n Blaubär's talking. Assistant Smitty's voice - though rarely heard and not always helpful - is beyond all praise, as it is the voice of the esteemed Wolfgang Völz, the famous Käpt'n Blaubär. Since the game was translated flawlessly, players can also read his advice. There are very few sounds in the game, e.g. when a construction has been completed.Localisation rating: excellent"
May 2003
Gamestar
"The definite highlight is pirate instructor Smitty, dubbed by actor Wolfgang Völz. In the cocky manner typical of Käpt'n Blaubär, he gives out useful hints on how to improve the settlement."
May 2003
Bayern 3 Online
"Personal assistant "Smitty" makes sure trainee pirates don't forget anything. Actor Wolfgang Völz is ideally cast for the part - after all, he is also the voice of Käpt'n Blaubär and knows all about sailors' yarns ... "
