The freely explorable game world of the island Faranga offers complete liberty of action; it is up to the player which paths to take and which faction to join. An innovative combat and magic system with intuitive controls and tactical depths helps our hero prevail.

The press was very happy with the German voice recordings featured in the game: "It is rare to hear such accomplished voice acting, where every mood and every little undertone of scorn, derision, annoyance or sympathy comes across perfectly. The speakers have delivered superb, emotional work - kudos to those responsible." "Now this is the absolute highlight of Risen. Rarely have I encountered voice acting so amusing and entertaining.
