"Aztec" is not merely a gripping game centring around a devilish conspiracy in the Aztec Empire, but also an intellectual journey to the social reality of a fallen civilization: Thus the localisation concentrated mainly on making the in-game texts sound fluent and recreating them with their own original humour, while at the same time paying all due attention and respect to a civilization which is still something of a mystery to us ...

This ambition was fulfilled in accordance with the tradition of Ravensburger: During the translation, cultural features such as e.g. hierarchic subtleties in the characters' behaviour towards one another were considered, and players will find an encyclopaedia which pays great attention to the accuracy of its specialised terms in the German language.
