Release Date:
October 2006

Genre:
RPG

Localisation:
Texts

Immerse yourself once more in the fantastic world of Faerûn and experience the Forgotten Realms from your own chosen perspective as if you yourself were part of the Sword Coast and its inhabitants. Not only does Neverwinter Nights 2 take up the tale of several familiar characters from Neverwinter Nights 1, but it also presents a complete new campaign abiding by the current 3.05 version of the RPG D&D's rules and consistently maintaining the atmosphere in order to be equally true to the Forgotten Realms as its predecessor.

On your way to solving the mystery that surrounds an ancient silver blade, you will team up with a mélange of very diverse adventurers that will guarantee plenty of role-playing fun and entertainment: a dwarven monk with a fondness for ale and brawls meets a tiefling thief complete with tail, horns and a devilishly sharp tongue - there's no more to be said!

But beware - not only aficionados of the Forgotten Realms are likely to fall off their chairs with laughter during the clever battles of words between the Good and the Evil, the Chaotic and the Lawful. As a hero, you yourself will not be spared - on the contrary, your player character will be plunged deep into the game world, where they will not only have to smooth over arguments between their protégés, but also influence the development of the entire story with every action.

Whether you do so as a spellcrafting Drow or a sword-wielding gnomish barbarian is entirely up to you. In Neverwinter Nights 2, you alone will decide where your character comes from, what events moulded them in childhood, what special skills they possess and which side they will take in the battle between the Darkness and the Light.

Press Notes about
Neverwinter Nights 2
January 2007
PC Games
"Of course, the story development is mostly pretty much linear and the different dialogue options all lead to the same basic statement, namely that one must choose between a good or an evil action. But the way there is lined with well-polished dialogues and professionally presented. (...) The dialogues, story and characters are great. The (...) texts often had me laughing my head off."
Deccember 2006
PowerPlay
"The dialogues fit in well with the high-quality story."
Deccember 2006
Gamestar
"The dialogues are the highlights of the game. (...) Excellent translation (...) The texts in the game have all been translated professionally. (...) The characters' strengths and weaknesses in Neverwinter Nights 2 are underlined with plenty of wit, charm and patience. The fact that the narrow-minded brute Khelgar has to learn tolerance leads to a lot of smiles ('Prejudiced? I'm not prejudiced! By the Nine Hells, I even travel with a back-stabbing tiefling of all things, and you know how her kind are!')."

"And there are plenty of laughs, too. You will sometimes see as many hilariously funny dialogues here as you would normally find only in several games."
