The 3D ego shooter Unreal Tournament turned out to be a real money spinner for GTI in 1999. Following the success of its predecessor "Unreal", no effort was spared towards providing impressive graphics and a high level of enjoyment. Even the texts - which are often sorely neglected in shooters - meet with this high standard. In addition to the numerous calls from player to player, the game's setting is described with great care, in order to add an ironic touch to the typical 'slap-bang' atmosphere. Every single one of the robotic characters is equipped with his/her own life story.

Examples:
Othello used to act as bodyguard for Cyron's financial commission but turned into a suicidal pit fighter following the mysterious death of his protégé.

Kulgan's fighting skill is only exceeded by his personality. When he isn't trying to seduce women, you will find him in the arena with a pulse cannon.

Riker is a walking fusion of tactics and style. He is constantly searching for new methods of eliminating his adversaries, and has won countless prizes for creative improvisation.

The main target of this localisation was to reflect the original's subtle amusement and humour in the German version.
