Adventure/RPG

The player's character Christoph Romuald roams the town of Prague at the time of the crusades, and later ends up in the modern world, just before the change of the millennium. The dramatic action centres around a vampire hero whose time ran out long ago, and who is now expected to save the world:

Romuald was once a mortal crusader in Prague before he was "kissed", and thus accepted into the community of the vampires. He lapsed into the vampire rigidity known as torpor, and has awoken to the modern age of the turn of the millennium. He discovers that his arch enemies' monster is threatening to destroy the world ...

To begin with, the two different epochal phases of the game had to be reflected linguistically. In the vampire dynasties, medieval and chivalrous manners have survived to the modern day, creating a strange contrast between the language of the vampires and their modern surroundings.

At the same time, the game's settings are extremely varied, which means unique constellations of characters keep appearing. A climax of these linguistic fireworks is the meeting between medieval Christoph and malcavian computer freak Dev/Null, who must hack into a computer to retrieve an important code ...

Press Notes about
Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption
July 2000
Gamespot.de
"Besides the medieval chants and pieces of techno music in the modern age, the German version possesses brilliant voice-overs. It has been a long time since a game was so expertly localised. The actors used for the VO are true professionals and the language is fitting to the day and age."
July 2000
CHIP Online
"The atmospheric ambience is intensified by the brilliant, gothic soundtrack. (...) The synchronisation is well worth listening to. The characters' voices are well chosen and mostly pleasant. The sound effects are also top quality. "
