Cybertron is on the brink of disaster. Megatron, the evil Decepticon leader, is determined to win the war against the Autobots once and for all, and will stop at nothing - not even the use of dark Energon. Under the leadership of the heroic Optimus Prime, the last of the Primes, the Autobots risk everything to stop him.

The game tells the story of the Transformers’ escape from their homeworld of Cybertron, and describes the events that forced them to leave. The gripping story mode has players choosing a side in order to experience the tale from the viewpoint of the Autobots or the Decepticons. Aside from the story mode, however, Transformers: War for Cybertron also includes a number of exciting multiplayer modes where players can either work together or against each other.
